In June, Snipe was ineffective against armored biological units. īy March 2008, Drop Pods were removed and each ghost could detect units with energy in a 30-yard radius around them. Drop pods could be loaded with 12 infantry units. The shadow ops could contain both a nuke and a drop pod simultaneously. In December, they had 70 HP, dealt 6 (+12 vs Light) damage and had 7 range. In November, they had 100 HP, and dealt 5 damage (+30 vs Light) with an attack range of 10. Ghosts had 70 HP, a build time of 33 seconds, and cost 100 minerals and gas. The EMP ability was added by November, functioning similarly to that of the science vessel's. Lockdown was effectively removed, as the ghost lacked it even in an earlier build of the game, where Sniper could also be auto-cast. They featured two new abilities: Sniper, which dealt 150 damage to biological units with a long startup and no energy cost, and Drop Pods, which contained six marines and were deployed onto the battlefield in a similar manner to a nuke.
